Standard mode: a percentage of the account
In Standard mode, the user selects the share of account value used to size the bot's position. The system separately checks internal allocations already reserved for other bots so capital assigned to them is not committed again.
This can be straightforward if you prefer to express exposure as a percentage. Because sizing depends on account value when an entry is considered, the resulting notional can change with balance, closed results and other conditions. The selected percentage is not an absolute loss limit.
Vault mode: an internal allocation
In Vault mode, you set an initial USDC amount for the bot — currently configurable from 10 USDC — and a profit-reinvestment percentage between 0% and 100%. LionLabs accounts for that allocation against other bots and uses it as the sizing base, rather than sizing every entry as a share of the entire account value.
The allocation stays within the same Hyperliquid account. Enabling Vault does not automatically deposit funds into another wallet or create a separate exchange subaccount. Actual margin availability and order-size rules still apply.
How are profits tracked for reinvestment?
Vault tracks realised results from closed trades. When a trade closes with net profit, the selected share increases the bot's calculated operating capital; the remainder is recorded as protected profit in LionLabs' internal accounting. Unrealised P&L from an open position is not reinvested. Closed losses reduce operating capital.
Arithmetic example, not a return forecast: with 1,000 USDC initially assigned and 40% reinvestment, a closed net gain of 100 USDC would add 40 USDC to calculated operating capital and classify 60 USDC as protected. A subsequent loss would reduce operating capital. The 60 USDC is not physically moved to a separate account.
Benefits and limits of each approach
Standard
May suit your workflow if you want to size the bot as a share of the account without assigning a fixed nominal amount to each bot.
Keep in mind that account value and exposure can change, so the resulting notional is not necessarily constant.
Vault
May suit your workflow if you prefer an internal bot allocation and want to choose what share of each closed gain increases its operating capital.
Keep in mind the initial allocation, reinvestment rate and losses: the reserve is accounting-based and does not physically separate funds.
Neither mode is universally better. The choice depends on how you want to organise capital and on the risk you are prepared to accept. Before activation, also check the estimated safety value of each TP.
“Protected” does not mean risk-free
Profit not reinvested no longer increases that Vault's internal operating capital, but remains in the same Hyperliquid account. It is not a withdrawal, a guarantee of preservation or protection against account-wide risk, liquidation, operational failure or losses from other strategies. This feature alone does not physically isolate assets.
A simulation can illustrate how Vault accounting would have behaved on historical data. It cannot replace live account balances, open positions or actual realised results.
Frequently asked questions
Does Vault transfer funds to another account?
No. It is an internal LionLabs allocation and tracking method; funds stay in Hyperliquid.
Is unrealised profit from an open position reinvested?
No. The reinvestment rule applies to net gains from closed trades, not floating P&L.
Can I select 0% reinvestment?
Yes. Closed gains then do not increase the Vault's calculated operating capital. They remain in the account and remain exposed to its broader risks.
Measure combined risk
Capital allocation is only one part: historical drawdown and leverage across all bots determine how much risk the account accumulates.
